Who is eligible to book with Vita Student?

Any person who is over 18 and is a student that is enrolled with an educational institution can live with Vita Student at any of our developments across the UK.

If I am doing an internship/placement year or part time course, am I allowed to live with Vita Student?

Yes, as long as you are still registered as a student and your placement is part of your degree/course then you can still live with Vita Student.

How do I book?

Booking your studio is easy! The booking process is four simple steps and takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

You will need to find your location first and then select the room you want to book.

What is the booking process?

Our four step booking process is easy. Simply:

  • Find the room you want to book
  • Register your details
  • Read and agree to the T&Cs
  • Pay your Advance License Fee Payment to secure your room!

How much is the Advanced License Fee?

To secure your accommodation, you’ll need to pay a 2 Weeks Advanced License Fee at the point of booking. This fee covers you for your first two weeks stay with us and is deducted from the total amount due. The license fee amount differs depending on the price of the room you pick, and this will be shown at the point of booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

We allow a 5-day cooling off period after paying the Advance License Fee if your accommodation is booked prior to 25th May 2020. After the 25th May 2020, the cooling off period becomes 48 hours.

If you cancel within 5- days (or 48 hours after 25th May), the Advance Payment will be fully refunded to the account from which it was paid. Once you have booked and the 5- days has elapsed (or 48 hours after 25th May), you are bound into a legal licence agreement which requires you to pay the for the full period of the licence agreement. We suggest if you are unsure about exam results, receiving your visa or other condition on you attending University that you contact us to discuss on +44(0)203 096 1717.

After booking and the expiry of the 5-days (or 48 hours after 25th May), the only way to release yourself from the license agreement is to find a replacement tenant who will take on the full liability for payment of the License Fee.

Please see our Covid Booking Guarantee for the latest cancellation terms.

Can I transfer my booking to a different Vita Student development?

It is possible to transfer your booking and Advance License Fee over to another building but you will need to go through the booking process again to select your accommodation in the new building. Our team will be more than happy to have a conversation with you about the process to make it as easy as possible. Please be aware that an administration charge may be applicable.

What happens if my loan doesn't get paid on time and I can’t pay my instalment before the due date?

If you choose to pay by instalments and are reliant on a student loan, then you will also have provided a Guarantor. If your student loan is late, we do require you to pay the license fee on time and would ask your Guarantor to assist with the payment until your loan arrives.

Do you allow short term lets?

We have some studios available with shorter contracts in our residences across the UK. Perfect if you are only studying for a term at a time or on a language course that lasts a few months.

To find out more, please contact the team on +44(0)203 096 1717 and we will try to find something suitable for you.

What happens if I can’t make my payment on time?

Talk to us! We will always work with you to find the best way for you to pay your license fee. However, to be able to provide the high level of service we do, we need and expect our residents to pay on time.

How can I pay my license fee?

You have three different options when deciding how to pay your license fee:

  • Annually where the license fee is paid in full and no guarantor is required.
  • Two instalments where two equal payments are made in June and January. You need to have a guarantor to pay by two instalments but it does not have to be UK-based.
  • Four instalment payments made in June, October, January and April. All students need to have a UK-based guarantor to pay by four instalments.

Can I leave early and get the remainder of my license fee back?

Unfortunately, you are committed under the license period to pay the full license fee, but please speak to the Customer Engagement team on customerengagement@vitastudent.com if you would like to leave your room early. We may have a waiting list of people that would like to take over your booking which would then relinquish you from your contract. We cannot refund your license fee until a replacement is found to take over your booking.

Can I move in early?

This is dependent on whether the room you have booked is available and could be subject to an additional cost. Please contact the Customer Engagement team on customerengagement@vitastudent.com to get more information.

The Advance License Fee remains the same for two people sharing a room.

What is a guarantor?

A guarantor is someone over the age of 18 who takes joint financial responsibility for your license and is liable to pay your license fee if you are, for any reason, unable to pay any amount owed to Vita Student.

You will need to name a guarantor when you make your booking if you select to pay by two or four instalments. This person will need to agree to be your guarantor and sign the license paperwork.

We have the right to pursue this person for recovery of outstanding monies so it is important your guarantor understands their liability.

Who needs a guarantor?

Only students that select to pay by instalments needs to have a guarantor and it only has to be UK-based if you opt for four instalments.
